在2020年橫空出世的新冠肺炎Covid-19，至今已肆虐全球超過一年，在仍無完全有效的抑制手段下，在台灣的我們仍然需要遵守防疫措施並養成後疫情時代的良好防疫習慣，關於防疫英文～瘋編整理出國際間近期討論度最高的一些防疫相單字與用法，下次跟國外友人討論疫情時就可以用上這些關鍵單字囉！

1.新冠肺炎COVID-19的症狀是什麼？（What are the symptoms of COVID-19?）

最常見的症狀包括：

Fever 發燒
Dry cough 咳嗽/乾咳
Fatigue 疲倦

其他有可能出現的症狀包括：

Sore throat 喉嚨痛
Headache 頭痛
Shortness of breath 呼吸急促/呼吸困難
Loss of taste or smell 味覺/嗅覺喪失
Muscle or joint pain 肌肉或關節疼痛
Chills 發冷

大多數(約80%)的患病者可以在不借助醫療手段下康復，而有5%的患者需要醫院的重症看護，導致死亡的並發症包括：

Acute respiratory distress syndrome （簡稱ARDS）急性呼吸窘迫症候群
Sepsis 敗血症
Septic shock 敗血性/嚴重性休克

declaration（n.）聲明、宣言/通常用 the declaration of ＋名詞

quarantine（n.）隔離/通常用 in…quarantine

依據台灣法令規定，抵臺後作為居家檢疫對象須遵守其相關規範。

isolation（n.）也是隔離的意思，自主隔離就可以說 self-isolation

在居家隔離期滿14天後，應再自主健康管理7天，記錄體溫和健康狀況，並配合照護與後續追蹤措施。

國際相關防疫措施

lockdown 封城/封鎖

通常會跟 lift（v.）解除搭配使用，像是 to lift+名詞

例：Since a new coronavirus variant has pushed infection rates to their highest recorded levels. There are more onerous lockdown restrictions in England are likely in the coming weeks.

由於一種新的冠狀變種病毒將感染人數推到了一個歷史高峰，英國可能會在接下來的幾週內採取更加嚴格的封城與限制措施。

3.後疫情時代國民必須養成的防疫習慣

social distancing 社交距離（n.）

distance（n.）距離（v.）保持距離

例：Keep the social distance of more than a meter and wear a face mask when having a conversation with others.

與他人交談時，請保持超過一米的社交安全距離並戴上口罩。

同義詞 sterilize（v.）也是消毒/殺菌的意思

例：To clean and disinfect the surface of frequent contact items regularly.

定期清潔和消毒經常接觸物品的表面。

例：You should put on a face mask when entering and leaving the indoor public places.

confirmed（adj.）已確診的/通常會加介系詞 confirmed by…. 做使用

經過2003年SARS的慘痛經歷，台灣政府決定採取更積極的措施應對大流行傳染病。
